Pavel Shenzeng was a retired Capellan Confederation Armed Forces MechWarrior.[1]
History[edit]
Pavel Shenzeng came from House Shenzeng, a noble house long known for producing MechWarriors who loyally served the Capellan Confederation for centuries. Long retired by the final decade of the Third Succession War, Pavel's son Dimitri would carry on their House's fine legacy until he was downed in battle and taken captive alongside a number of other Capellan pilots by pirates.[1]
With the pirates demanding a random for the return of Dimitri and the other pilots, Pavel was unwilling to bow to their request, instead opting to hire the services of the Nik's Cavaliers mercenary unit to rescue his son. Supplying intel that indicated the pirates held his son on Lopez in Free Worlds League space, the mercenaries found the prison empty but uncovered information that allowed Pavel to track the pirates to Ryerson X where the mercenaries lured them away, allowing their DropShip to rescue the captives from the real prison.[1]
Though noting the mercenaries had accepted the job for the money, Pavel Shenzeng informed them he owed them a life-debt. Likewise, his son Dimitri's sense of honor meant he felt a similar life-debt, ultimately pledging his allegiance to Nik's Cavaliers and entering mercenary service with them.[1]
