Pete Williams was the leader of a minor criminal gang operating in the Alarion Province.[1]
History[edit]
Pete "Willy-Pete" Williams worked at industrial sites as a sanitary technician for legitimate businesses on Tiruppur and Nuneaton. Sometime after he began his life of crime, he and his gang wanted to steal a BattleMech purely for fun. They managed a daring theft of several Bowie Electronics 'Mechs, ones Bowie was using as testing platforms for various types of proprietary equipment and partially assembled weapon prototypes. This led Bowie to suspect they were operatives for their competitor TharHes Industries, and they hired a mercenary unit off-the-books to conduct retaliatory raids on what they believed were secret TharHes facilities.[1]
After Williams was gunned down on Kostinbrod, his captured accomplices and their 'Mech data revealed they had no association with TharHes, and the facilities Bowie had destroyed were merely locations where Williams had been previously employed. Meanwhile, TharHes had given holovid press conferences on the terrible pirate activity in the area, and a grateful but embarrassed Bowie Electronics asked the mercenaries to delete all correspondence and leave the area before any investigations started.[1]
