Political Frauds

Political Frauds was a written work, authored by Andrew Hoexter and published by Miflin-Gowers Publishing, in 2659.[1]

Overview[edit]

This work included a discussion of figures, which while were celebrated by history, the author considered to have been political frauds or failures. Quoting Dr. Ernst Meyer's work Shadows of the Future, to the effect that every culture must have folk heroes even if they aren't real, one of the figures Hoexter took aim at was first Prime Minister of New Avalon Jason Hasek.

Acknowledging Hasek's bravery during the Grain Rebellion, Hoexter considered Hasek's emulation of Lucius Quinctius Cincinnatus' example in rejecting long term political power was a failure of statesmanship, which contributed to the later civil violence on New Avalon which ultimately claimed Hasek's life.[1]
