Description[edit]
A Solaris VII BattleMech, the Prowler was designed specifically for Zellbrigen Stables. By using Clan weaponry, the designers of Innovative Design Concepts hoped to land an exclusive contract to provide Zellbrigen with equipment.
Weapons and Equipment[edit]
The Prowler is built on an expensive, fragile, but very lightweight Crucis-AE composite structure, carrying a similarly expensive Core Tek 385 XXL engine. These two lightweight technologies allow the 'Mech to move up to 118.8 km/h, and with the installed supercharger active, up to 151.2 km/h; this speed is further enhanced by seven Northrup 12000 jump jets, allowing the 'Mech to leap up to 210 meters. These valuable components are protected by nine and a half tons of bulky Durallex Super Medium heavy ferro-fibrous armor. To free up space for these components the Prowler utilizes a small cockpit and compact gyro.
The Prowler's main armament is its Series PPS-XX ER large pulse laser. This is backed up by two Series PPS-XIX ER medium pulse lasers and two Series PPS-XVI ER small pulse lasers. All of them are Clan technology.
Variants[edit]
- PWR-1X1
- This variant features standard extended range lasers instead of the extended range pulse lasers, and SRM-4 racks entirely replaced the ER small lasers. The supercharged engine was replaced by a standard engine, and a targeting computer was installed. It also has five more double heat sinks than the original model. BV (2.0) = 1,990[4]
