Rafael Espinoza was a battalion commander in the Twentieth Rasalhague Regulars during his unit's last battle on Memmingen.[1]

Ronin War[edit]
When the First Sword of Light commander, Tai-sa Shigeru Yoshida, showed the Twentieth honor by offering them the chance to duel his officers on Memmingen, Espinoza was one of those to take up the challenge. Though he won, the other commanders fled and Espinoza surrendered. Subject to imprisonment and interrogation, it eventually came to light that Espinoza was unaware of the true orders given to his unit.[1]
Second Legion of Vega[edit]
Espinoza was allowed to rejoin the DCMS as a member of the Second Legion of Vega.[1]
BattleMech[edit]
Rafael Espinoza was a noted KTO-20 Kintaro pilot. Espinoza's Second Battalion shared his abilities in negotiating difficult terrain.[1]
