Overview[edit]
The Epsilon Regiment and elements of the Support Battalion of Wolf's Dragoons were stationed on Thestria in 3025 wondering what their next target would be along the Draconis Combine-Federated Suns border.
However, their plans were foiled when the 1st Chisholm Raiders landed at various points on Thestria's dark side. The Raiders seemed to operate with an uncanny knowledge of the Dragoons positions, even surrounding Able Battalion of Dragoons in the city of Gresham while avoiding direct confrontation elsewhere. Also, Captain Julie Sunstrom's company was badly damaged by a well laid vibrabomb minefield.
When Major Richard Jarrett's Lancer Battalion tried to relive the encircled Able Battalion, he was stalemated at the Varley River. Meanwhile, Charlie Battalion under Major Hussein Tajdar took heavy losses at Perry Point. With all three major units of the Dragoons isolated and stalled, the Raiders stripped supplies from warehouses and destroyed many major installations.
A counterraid by Verhoffen's Battalion on the Raiders was able to damage some of the Raiders DropShip and aerospace assets, but the Raiders were able to withdraw with few losses.
After the battle, Arbuthnot would complain that the only way his units were defeated so easily was because the enemy must have had access to Epsilon's deployment and defensive plans.[1]
