The Ramora system is the location of at least one habitable world, and as of 3152 was located in the Raven Alliance.[4]

System Description[edit]

The Ramora system is located near the Pitkin and Mishkadrill systems. It contains at least three planets and lies Spinward of Terra.[4][5]

System History[edit]

The Ramora system was either colonized by the Outworlds Alliance during the Age of War or was an already-inhabited system that became significant enough during this period for Inner Sphere nations to begin recording its location on maps.[6]

Planetary History[edit]

Third Succession War[edit]

A warm, semitropical world, in 3025 Ramora was host to one of two United Outworlders Corporation major factories and was a prime target for raiders and pirates. The UOC factory on Ramora manufactured the LTN-G15 Lightning and the SYD-21 Seydlitz fighters, as well as machine guns. Between the joint Draconis Combine/Outworlds Alliance aerospace fighter project running through the UOC factory and the other weapons factories and facilities located on this world, Ramora was the site of the largest weapons producing facility in the Outworlds Alliance in 3025. Up to 15,000 technicians and specialists worked on Ramora at the time, and Ramora was the engineering site for space parts and machinery vital to the long-term defense of the Alliance.[48][1]

In addition to its importance to the Alliance as a military production world, Ramora is also the nexus of the Taoist faith within the Alliance[1] as well as being the birthplace of Herodias Ap Gwynn, founder of the Pan-Humanist faith,[49] although Taoism remains the dominant faith on Ramora.[47]

Jihad[edit]

On 5 January 3069, the Clan Snow Raven Swift Wing Naval Assault Star was resupplying in the Ramora system when it was attacked and destroyed by terrorists. The Star consisted of just four vessels at the time, the CSR Spur, the CSR White Terror, the CSR Blizzard, and the CSR James McKenna, as one vessel had already been destroyed by Draconis Combine forces two years previously. The terrorists were either from or backed by the Word of Blake, but used Draconis Combine vessels and tactics when they destroyed the Snow Raven WarShips.[50]

During the Jihad, Ramora was the subject of an unsanctioned attack by mercenaries in the employ of the Federated Suns. On 2 October 3071, the Screaming Eagles mercenary unit attacked Ramora, engaging both Outworlds Alliance and Clan Snow Raven forces.[51][52] As reprisal for this attack, a combined Outworlds Alliance/Snow Raven force raided the Federated Suns world of Kilbourne in early November.[52][53]
