Essentially a generational improvement over the Recoilless Rifles of the 20th Century this weapon fires High Explosive rockets capable of damaging Armored Targets (BattleMechs, Combat Vehicles, BattleArmour, Etc). Heavier than LAW, Recoiless Rifles are capable of fireing any Ordnance Type except for FASCAM or Flare rounds.

Recoilless Rifles eject a mass of high-velocity gass in the direction opposite that which it is fireing in order to negate recoil. The Light Recoilless Rifle has a backblast of 2 meters.

The Smallest type of Recoilless rifle in common use, the Light Recoiless Rifle is a shoulder fired support weapon small enough to be operated by a single individual. However, the lack of a significant punch limits it's utility.

Note that the Anti-Vehicle Class C Anti-Vehicle shell is used in the stats for the Infantry Portable Model when all C Class ordnance but Flare or FASCAM may be fired from this weapon.

The Infantry Portable Light Recoilless Rifle is produced in many forms and variants accross the innersphere, the data can be considered representational of a cross section of weapons.

The BattleArmor Variant fires a larger, more powerful shell not given an official ordnance class.
