Red Rover was the designation of a Free Worlds League Military force created during the Third Succession War. Operating for nine years, the units waging the Red Rover campaign were successful in attacking supply centers across the Capellan Confederation.
History[edit]
Formed on the orders of Captain-General Elisabeth Marik, Red Rover's units began deep penetration raids against the Confederation in 2901. During the next decade key logistical depots on Aldebaran, Shensi, Nanking and Buenos Aires were attacked. Red Rover ended in 2910 with the capture of the ice ship Silver Frost in the Buenos Aires system, followed by a multi-pronged attack on the desert world of Zion in the Capellan garrison was routed and the Galleon tank made its combat debut.[1] [2]
Utilizing strong Capellan reserves, Chancellor Otto Liao ensured that the League forces could not remain on any Capellan worlds attacked and so the Red Rover campaign was ended in June 2910. Nonetheless, the raids were considered Elisabeth Marik's greatest military accomplishment and the surviving participants were given a victory parade on Atreus.[2][1]
