MechWarrior Richard Garvey was a mercenary MechWarrior who worked for a number of units during the early thirty-first century.[1]

History[edit]

Early Career[edit]

Garvey inherited his 'Mech from his older brother, and then setoff for a life as a mercenary, initially joining Hansen's Roughriders. He was however dismissed from the Roughriders for dereliction of duty, after which he found employment with Smithson's Chinese Bandits.

The Bandits however also found him unacceptable, forcing him to leave after repeated incidents of insubordination. This left Garvey with few remaining options, and so he joined one of the rare units who would still take him on, Wilson's Hussars. As of 3025, he was therefore a member of the Hussars, fighting with their Fire Lance.

Wilson's Hussars[edit]

During the Hussars' disastrous raid on a location known as Longbow Mountain in the Taurian Concordat while employed by Helmar Valasek, Garvey panicked and fled, resulting in him being unpopular amongst his fellow Hussars. He was however keen to redeem himself, and the Hussars could not afford to lose any MechWarrior, even one with a record as poor as his.

The only member of the Hussars who would speak with him was Lieutenant Paula Stilson, who had taken pity on him, and acted as his mother-confessor.[1]

BattleMech[edit]

Garvey was known to have pilot a Wasp BattleMech.[1]
