Baron Roderick Brynd was the head of a minor noble house, based on Acamar, as of 3067.[1]

History[edit]

Roderick was a dark-skinned man, who was somewhere in this late forties as of 3067. He was considered to be a quiet man, with a keen sense of justice, who preferred to lead by example rather than by raising his voice. He was a champion of farmers and farming on Acamar, as against excess mining.[2]

Brynd's family agricultural landhold on Acamar included a major titanium deposit, known as the Straand Titanium Lode. This deposit became known to other noble and corporate stakeholders in Acamar's provisional government, the People's Republic of Acamar[3], before Baron Brynd leading to various attempts by other local noble families and Johnston Industries to convince him to sell the relevant land for less than its true worth.[1]

These included Johnston Industries arranging a covert raid on his landholdings by the mercenary unit the Broadstreet Bullies, which killed a number of the Baron's family members, including his eldest daughter. This resulted in Brynd sending a family representative, Andrew Osbourne, to Outreach in order to hire his own mercenaries to help determine the perpetrator of this raid.[4][2]
