The Ronan's Shredders were a battalion-sized pirate group operating after the War of 3039.[1]
History[edit]
By May 3040, Ronan's Shredders had begun raiding Galatea, first targeting key locations such as Galaport and Cone City before focusing on the Mercenary Review Board Center in Galatea City. Their primary interest was the data caches containing mercenary units' sensitive personal information that could be exploited or sold on the open market. Planetary Governor Lawrence Bonham was unsure of their motivations but suspected Wolf's Dragoons might have sent them to sow chaos and discord, tarnishing their reputation as a Mercenary Star in the eyes of ComStar and mercenaries alike, since the Dragoons' hiring hall on Outreach had started drawing away more and more of the honorable mercenaries.[1]
A Hansen's Roughriders security force led by Wolfgang Hansen attempted to confront the Shredders but found themselves outmatched and pinned down between fortifications on the path to the MRBC. Governor Bonham then brought in the reputable Cavaliers to deal with them. On 25 December 3040, the Cavaliers smashed through three defensive strongholds en route to linking up with the Roughriders, and together they continued on to the MRBC where they rooted out the remaining Shredders before they could extract the data caches or go scorched earth on the facility.[1]
