In the later days of the Third Succession War Williams was a Locust pilot with Burrows' Crashing Thunder Regiment on Torwind. After an intense battle his lance begin ad-hoc repairs inside an old meat packing plant. The two Techs, Frank Krieger and Abby Farber, took advantage of the sheet metal to decorate the BattleMechs with corporate slogans like "Spam" and "Lard." Williams' Locust had "Processed Chicken" up and down both legs and its right torso. The no-nonsense Williams was less than amused, and had to be restrained to keep from beating the Techs with a wrench.[1][2]
At some point between 3024[3] and 3029[4] the Crashing Thunder was destroyed, and Williams was one of many Locust pilots who joined the First Dismal Disinherited, which became known as O’Hare’s Plague of Locusts as a result. Techs Krieger and Farber came with him and continued to prank him with corporate logo adorned industrial armor whenever possible. They were all shocked when in 3034 Nummy Hens of Boondock offered to sponsor his newly famous "Processed Chicken" BattleMech. He agreed to have his Locust repaired with Nummy Hens branded armor, allowing him to purchase the LCT-3S refit kit within months of its 3049 release[1]
He was notably inept at ’Mech repairs.[2]
