History[edit]
After the ilClan Trial, Clan Wolf became the ilClan, but its territory, the so-called Wolf Empire, was besieged by enemies and undefended. However, it didn't fall, thanks mainly to its only defending officer, Star Colonel Othar. He, by his own initiative, lowered the age of graduation of all sibkos by a year and offered new opportunities to all solahma warriors in the Empire, using newly manufactured equipment to raise, in less than a year, two full Galaxies: Lupus and Rufus.[2]
Lupus was to become the frontline one, first responders to any crises that troubled Rufus garrison units. Five Clusters strong, Rufus was posted on worlds which Othar deemed of strategic or industrial value, while a Lupus Cluster was one or two jumps from their Rufus Galaxy counterpart. While Rufus pinned an enemy in place, its paired Lupus Cluster would arrive to smash the enemy.[1]
For this, Rufus Clusters, unlike Lupus, usually didn't have their own DropShips and JumpShips assigned, but had a preponderance of combat vehicles, aerospace fighters and both armored and conventional infantry.[1] Active at the end of 3151, Rufus saw heavy combat everywhere in the Empire, but they were greatly outnumbered, and suffered unknown losses, being unable to prevent a loss of dozens of worlds, though they managed to hold on to the rest.[3]

Tactics[edit]
The 106th's actions against on Trellisane shows that Rufus Clusters were ordered to hold the planet they defended as long as possible, and especially to minimize their losses, using cunning and harassment tactics, essentially waging guerrilla warfare, waiting for their counterpart Lupus Cluster to arrive or, if it was too costly, to retreat to another planet using carefully laid plans.[4]
Insignias[edit]
Rufus paints its equipment a rusty red.[5]
