Busosenshi Sandy "Turtle" Porter was a MechWarrior with the Ninth Ghost regiment during the War of 3039.[1][2]

Porter participated in the battle on Elidere IV during the War of 3039, fighting against the Screaming Eagles mercenary unit, which surrendered when faced with the prototype Gauss rifles mounted on Ghost 'Mechs including that piloted by Porter.
Despite the success gained with the long range damage of the Gauss rifle, Porter's 'Mech spent more time on its back than upright, due to the balance issues caused by the large weapon. Despite attempts to prop her 'Mech against buildings and large trees, the only result seemed to be breaking the trees and destroying the buildings.[1][2]
BattleMech[edit]
Porter was known to pilot a Hunchback BattleMech named Five Chances, which was modified to carry a prototype Gauss rifle on Elidere IV. It was however, much to Porter's disappointment, ordered to be returned to its original configuration after that battle due to the balance issues experienced.[1][2]
