Sapienza is located near the Kladnitsa and Coldbrook systems.

System History[edit]

The Sapienza system was colonized during the Star League era at some point after the end of the Reunification War.[1] Sapienza was originally a part of the Timbuktu Province of the Rim Worlds Republic and was conquered by the Lyran Commonwealth during the 2773-2775 Republic-Commonwealth war.[2]

Planetary History[edit]

On January 3rd, 3151, a large and well equipped band of pirates invaded Sapienza. Sapienza's milita was quickly overrun and forced to retreat into hiding. Once achieving de-facto control of the planet the pirates began marauding from settlement to settlement instead of following the standard pirate behaviour of looting and returning to their ships. Entire cities were put to the torch by the month-long pirate rampage before help finally arrived on January 28th. Passing JumpShips had spread to news of what was happening to the surrounding worlds, but the Lyran Commonwealth hadn't dispatched reinforcements. Instead a battalion of the 1st Timbuktu Guards had jumped into the system, offering their assistance but only if Sapienza would agree to join the Timbuktu Collective. After less than an hour of deliberation, Sapienza's surviving leadership agreed. CAG forces executed combat drops onto the largest concentrations of bandits and quickly routed them, with few of the marauders managing to escape alive.[35]
