Serin Centrella was a member of the ruling family of the Magistracy of Canopus.

Serin Centrella, like most members of the Centrella family, spent most of her life living under a false identity in order to ensure her safety and privacy. In Serin's case, she assumed the identity of Serin Pashton. Serin served as her mother Erde Centrella's senior aide, and as the pressures of regent during Magistrix Ilsa Liao-Centrella's frequent absences from Canopian space took a tole on her mothers health Serin increasingly took over her day to day duties.[2].
On the 8th of June, 3151, Serin discovered her mother had suffered a stroke in her office and fallen into a coma. Following her mother's contigency plan for her incapacitation, Serin announced her Centrellan heritage publicly and was temporarily sworn in as regent in her place while word was sent to the Magistrix. When Ilsa returned in the middle of the month, she ratified Serin's appointment to the position permanently. In any case, Erde never regained consciousness and Serin lost her mother just a few weeks later. [3]
