Captain Seth Nicholson was a MechWarrior, and the founding commander of the mercenary White Lions Company, during the thirty-second century.[2][1]

A bookish man with a passion for history, Nicholson had a keen interest in his grandfather Demi-Precentor Cecil Nicholson[3], the commander of the Manyfold Paths Level III within the ComGuard's 394th Division during Case White. His knowledge of historical trivia regarding his interests was so extensive, that he received the call-sign "Professor" from his comrades.
Nicholson did not however stop at historical study, seeking to reclaim his grandfather's glory, by founding a small mercenary command he named the White Lions with a loan from his parents. Modelling the White Lions on his grandfather's unit, he managed to expand it to a reinforced Company focused on fighting what Nicholson's considered the most pressing threat to the Inner Sphere, being the Clans and Clan Jade Falcon in particular. This led the White Lions to the Lyran Commonwealth / Falcon border, where they accepted Lyran contracts to combat the Falcons, through to at least 3151.[1][3]
One such engagement occurred on 5 June 3141, on the Lyran world of Kowloon, when Nicholson and the White Lions repulsed a raid on the city of Port Aransas conducted by elements of Clan Jade Falcon's Seventh Mixed Cluster.[4]
