The Seventeenth Jump Infantry Division was a part of the Star League Defense Force Regular Army.
History[edit]
In 2764 the unit was stationed on Saiph,[2] assigned as part of XXI Corps, First Army to the Terran Military Region.[3] The arrogance shown by those in the division, including the commanding officer, made the Seventeenth the flashpoint for anti-Royal sentiment in XXI Corps.[1]
The Seventeenth was transferred to District 1 of the Capellan Confederation Military Region in 2765 in response to the Periphery Uprising.[3] During the Amaris Civil War, the unit liberated a stockade where one of its regimental commanders, Carl Icaza of the 889th Jump Infantry Regiment, had been imprisoned for nine years.[4]
The Seventeenth survived the war and Hegemony Campaign, and followed General Aleksandr Kerensky on the Exodus in 2784.[3]

As an SLDF Jump Infantry division, the Seventeenth would have been formed from two brigades of Jump Troops, one brigade of BattleMech regiments, and two ground aero wings.[5]
