Shadows of the Future
Shadows of the Future was a written work, authored by Dr. Ernst Meyer, which was initially published sometime before 2659.[1][2]
Overview[edit]
This work provided a mediation on societies and their futures, identifying that human civilization all contained both the innate drive to become advanced techno-societies, but also the seeds of violence which inevitably cause them to fall back into primitive barbarism.[1] Dr. Meyer also posited a level of cynicism regarding the heroes adopted by societies, stating that all cultures will have folk heroes, whether those heroes are real or not.[2]
This work retained a level of popularity for an extended period, being cited as early as 2659 by Andrew Hoexter in his work Political Frauds[2], while still retaining enough interest to be reprinted by ComStar Publications in 3024.[1]
