JUMP BACK INTO THE COCKPIT!

Picking up the battle standard for BattleTech fiction,

Shrapnel: The Official BattleTech Magazine continues the tradition of hard-hitting stories set in the war-torn interstellar future of the 31st century and beyond. Fire up your 'Mech's fusion reactor, secure your neurohelmet, and wade into battle with stories from the merciless front lines of the Clan Invasion and other eras, conspiracy theory articles, game scenarios, and more—from veteran BattleTech authors, fan favorites, and some new recruits.

Contents[edit]

A 10 June 3150 episode of a show named "Secrets of the Sphere" where the host, Kyle DiNoto, builds on the rumors surrounding the SLS Tripitz and an unnamed informant from the Cult of the Saints Cameron who in turn refers to supposed prophesies of Jocasta Cameron. The piece suggests that while all 79 members of Richard Cameron's family were killed by Stefan Amaris, there were actually 80: Robert Cameron's [sic] 11-month-old daughter Amanda Cameron and her secret twin brother Ian were supposedly brought to New Vandenberg. A pair of twins about the right age subsequently moved to Horsham, and a direct descendant of that line named Daniel Cameron was alive, though a server failure in ca. 3147 destroyed his birth certificate. Daniel Cameron has since left for Addicks and his whereabouts are unknown.
Years after the Jihad, the rank and file members of the Protectorate Militia and Terran Security find themselves the subject of ridicule and derision for their association with the Word of Blake. This continues to occur despite the Republican Senate passing the General Amnesty Act of 3082 which granted amnesty to such low level forces. The Terran Legion appears to be a military fraternal organization for such veterans. A Terran Legion newsletter from 3096 illustrates the situation with personal comments from Pippel Ximenez from Procyon, Helen Ocampo from Basalt, John Harper Kennil from Terra, and "Perceval Cromwell" from Caph.
A rundown of common (as of the 32nd century) sniper rifles, complete with their game stats for the A Time of War roleplaying ruleset. Weapons covered are the
News article in the "Bueller Times" from 3094 reporting on Tancred Sandoval's absence from Robinson and the street level opinions of protesters in the city of Bueller, who are not satisfied with the explanantion that the Duke is on New Avalon for important diplomatic efforts in the wake of the Benet disaster.
A Dominion Public Report regarding the elimination of Cilla Amdahl, leader of the Motstånd rebels on Vipaava, in the Blue Road cave system. The Rasalhague Dominion expresses hope that her execution will end the ongoing uprisings.
  • Chaos Campaign Scenario: Target of Opportunity (by Aaron Cahall)
A boardgame scenario recreating a three-sided fight between Republic of the Sphere forces under Alexi Holt, Oriente Protectorate forces, and Com Guards all trying to capture Tucker Harwell on Wyatt on 22 May 3135
