History[edit]
The Sian Supremacy was founded on its titular world in 2250[1]. Sian was an ally of the Capellan Hegemony by 2288, when a joint operation between the two to break the siege of Highspire created enmity between Sian and the Sarna Supremacy. After the Hegemony was defeated in the Capellan-Supremacy War, Sian became a member state of the Capellan Commonality, the loose association that united the Capellan Zone prior to the formation of the Capellan Confederation[2]. At some point prior to 2366 the Sian Supremacy changed it's name to the Sian Commonwealth[3].
In 2365 the Capellan Commonality was thrown into chaos by Warren Aris's attempt to seize power. In 2367 the Capellan Zone was invaded by the forces of the Federated Suns, prompting Franco Liao to abolish the failed Commonality and create the Capellan Confederation. After Capella fell to the invaders that August Sian became the new nation's capital[2].
Notes[edit]
Handbook: House Marik refers to the Sianese state as the Sian Commonality prior to it's joining the Capellan Confederation. Handbook: House Liao refers to the state as the Sian Commonwealth at that time. To avoid confusion with the later Sian Commonality (a province rather than a state) this article assumes Handbook: House Marik is in error.
