History[edit]
The Sixty-ninth Dragoon Cluster was a former Clan Burrock unit known as the Fifteenth Rapier Cluster.[1]
Clan Burrock[edit]
The vetran Fifteenth Rapier Cluster was a part of Clan Burrock's Beta Galaxy.[2] Led by Khan Jocelyn Siddiq, the Cluster fought against the Wolf Clan's Third Battle Cluster in the Trial of Refusal Khan Ulric Kerensky demanded against the Grand Council and the authorization for Operation REVIVAL. They fought alongside the Fourth Jaguar Dragoons of Clan Smoke Jaguar, eventually driving a wedge between the remaining Wolves and overwhelming them piecemeal.[3]
Clan Star Adder[edit]
The Star Adder leaders chose to use them as a Dragoon unit, their light equipment giving them the flexibility that they needed for their new task.[1]

Tactics[edit]
Unlike most light mobile units, the Burrock Fifteenth Rapier Cluster was known to flaunt accepted military doctrine. Rather than use hit and run tactics, they would continue to push through defenses, preferring to move forward more than falling back and regrouping. Their attacks bled many opposing forces dry before they realized their mistake.[2]
As a rather unique specialty, the warriors of the Cluster used Light and Medium 'Mechs for brawling. The unit showed a preference to urban combat and engagement in limited areas.[1]
Composition History[edit]
3048[edit]
- Fifteenth Rapier Cluster (Veteran)
- Note: The Cluster fielded no assault OmniMechs, and less than a quarter of their machines were heavyweight.[2]
3059[edit]
3067[edit]
- Sixty-ninth Dragoon Cluster (Veteran/Reliable/100% strength)[4]
Color Scheme and Unit Insignia[edit]
Clan Burrock's Beta Galaxy painted their machines black, with a transition to red, orange, and then yellow at the extremities.[6]
As a member of Gamma Galaxy, the Sixty-Ninth Dragoon would have used the Star Adder standard colors of black and dark blue, highlighted with crimson red.[1][7][8]
The Star Adders placed the Clan's totem insignia on the left arm and right leg of BattleMechs and left wing and right stabilizers of aerospace fighters. The Gamma Galaxy insignia of a star adder devouring the Blood Spirit insignia was placed on the right arm and wings, and left leg and stabilizers of fighters. The cluster insignia of a glove hand holding a dagger was placed on the right torso and fuselage of their machines.[7][1]
