Sonia Zev was the commanding officer of the Ninth Alshain Regulars as of 3050.[1]

Tai-sa Zev, serving with the Ninth Alshain Regulars, was stationed on Jarett in 3050.[1] When elements of Clan Ghost Bear's Alpha Galaxy invaded Jarett in early 3050, Zev refused to reveal her unit's weaknesses by answering Khan Theresa DelVillar's batchall, although ComStar subterfuge had already revealed the Ninth's vulnerabilities to the invaders. While the Ninth Alshain fought a tenacious week-long battle by using the environment of the Solun Jungle for cover and concealment, Inner Sphere guerilla tactics were not yet advanced enough to prevent a Ghost Bear victory by the tenth day of the conflict. Despite their loss, the Ninth Alshain's ferocity in combat inspired the Ghost Bears to capture as many of its troops alive as possible for use as bondsmen, leading to an unusually high survival rate for Zev's men.[2]
