Description[edit]

The Sorenson's Sabres scenario pack provides detailed historical information about Sorenson's Company of the 5th Sword of Light between 3021 and 3026. Detailed personnel histories (for MechWarrior: The BattleTech Role Playing Game) provide information about the unit's members. The book also provides detailed historical information for their parent regiment, the 5th Sword of Light, from its inception in 2796 through the combat operations of 3026. It also provides a biography of Palmer Conti, the Fifth's commanding officer in 3026.

From the back cover[edit]

Born in the wake of civil unrest, Sorenson's Sabres are the most feared and respected of Kurita troops, due to their unique composition, deadly efficiency, and ferocious tactics. From fighting Bandit Kings to raids on Davion space, the LAMs, aerospace fighters, and 'Mechs of this company get the job done with new tactics and old-fashioned grit.

This scenario set details the history of Sorenson's Sabres, profiles the statistics and combat readiness of the members of the company, and includes 20 scenarios pitting Sorenson's Sabres against a wide variety of colorful opponents.

  • The cover image, depicting Sharron Burgoz in rather revealing MechWarrior attire, was "sanitized" prior to publication by adding the white parts to her panties; these were not present in the original image (which was used for the book's German edition cover).

A German edition was released by Fantasy Productions in 1994. Unlike many other German editions from FanPro, this contains no noteworthy changes or additions to the original content. The German version is printed as DIN A4, a standard European paper size, which is a little larger then North American Letter.

Spelling and Names[edit]

As with other German products prior to 1997, spelling and names (especially places and units) as well as most abbreviations were regularly adjusted. For instance the 'Mech unit Archer was renamed to Schütze, the planet Gotterdammerung was respelled to Götterdämmerung, the DCMS (Draconis Combine Mustered Soldiery) became VSDK (Vereinigte Streitkräfte des Draconis Kombinats) and so on.
