Description[edit]

When the HGN-734 Highlander's 3062 debut left a surplus of single heat sink-equipped fusion engines in the hands of StarCorps Industries, the company developed a new use for those and other leftovers: the St. Florian FireMech, an advanced IndustrialMech aimed at the largest and most prosperous buyers. Capable of wading into fires to fight them from within, outperforming the competing Pompier, the St. Florian's price largely limits it to planetary capitals and other major cities.[2]

Due to its high price, relative rarity, and importance to the communities it is found in, the St. Florian is rarely modified for combat use. However, some conversions have been done. These were most common on Republic worlds claimed by Clan-based splinter factions during the Dark Age.[2]

Weapons and Equipment[edit]

The most common St. Florian MOD benefits from the base 'Mech's design: the Environmental Sealing and twelve heat sinks remain from the original, unsupplemented. Two new Plasma Rifles are bolted on, as well are four Heavy Flamers. Three Coolant Pods are installed for emergency cooling. Advanced Fire Control, originally aiding in suppressing fire, here helps start it.[2]

Variants[edit]

  • FLN-366
The original St. Florian, introduced in 3063,[3] uses eight Fluid Guns to douse fires. BV (2.0) = 833.[2][4]
