StarCross Starlines was a Republic of the Sphere-based interstellar travel company.[1]
Overview[edit]
Founded in 3084 in response to the Resettlement Act of 3082, StarCross Starlines grew from a small co-op to become, by 3132, one of the Republic's ten largest travel and moving agencies. By then, though, the company was not at its best. An aging fleet and high operations costs, combined with a poor DropShip supply deal with DiNapoli Industries that cost StarCross over a billion C-bills beyond expectations, left the company troubled.[1]
On 2 July 3132, CEO Takeo Runde announced a new DropShip procurement deal with DiNapoli Industries, intended to give StarCross twenty DropShips over four years. As Jacob Bannson had just acquired DiNapoli, Runde believed the manufacturer would be more successful than before.[1]
A few weeks later, 25 July, StarCross was hit with another setback. After initial investigations by the Republic Transport and Safety Bureau, StarCross officially announced that one of the company's JumpShips, the Farstar, had disappeared mid-journey.[2]
