The Star Tigress was a Leopard-class DropShip. It carried four AFFS BattleMechs to Aldebaran in the opening stages of the Fourth Succession War .[1] The Star Tigress was making its orbital insertion in readiness to deploy its 'Mechs, when it was attacked by a House Liao Thrush Aerospace Fighter. Defensive fire from the DropShip scored fatal damage on the incoming fighter and the Thrush, minus its pilot, continued on a collision course with the Star Tigress. Attempts to evade the impact failed, and the fighter crashed into the DropShip’s port side at high speed. Severe damage was inflicted, including the loss of helm control, main power, and the portside wing. Unable to jettison any of its payload of BattleMechs, the Star Tigress broke up as it began an uncontrolled atmospheric entry over Aldebaran.
