The Stella Nera is one of the oldest Condottiere class assault craft still in service (as of 3145). By 3145 it was privately owned by Tamara Gioia, a former DropShip captain, who used it as a flight school for eager spacer cadets who couldn't afford to attend a proper aerospace academy.
Even as a training craft Stella Nera remained outfitted with a full weapons loadout. Consequently, governments were wary and several planets had issued arrest warrants against Tamara Gioia.[1]
