Stephan Somogyi was the commanding officer of the Fourth Pesht Regulars as of 3050.[1]
History[edit]
Sho-sho Somogyi, serving with the Fourth Pesht Regulars, was stationed on Tarnby in 3050.[1] When the Clan Invasion occurred, Somogyi's men attempted to battle their Clan opponents in one-on-one duels but were quickly overwhelmed by their foes' OmniMech technology and this, coupled with their targeting computers' inability to match the Clan 'Mechs to any known Inner Sphere designs, gave rise to the fear that they were battling alien invaders. When Elemental armored infantry began entering the fight while shrugging off direct hits from the Fourth's laser weaponry, the two-thirds of the unit still intact broke and ran. Somogyi would later order that every 'Mech in the Fourth Regulars be painted with Tarnby's planetary flag as a reminder of the unit's dishonor and that the only way for a soldier to remove it would be to perform a heroic act in battle against the Clans. Somogyi also swore only to remove his own mark of shame once every warrior under his command had already done so.[3] By 3054, Somogyi and the Fourth Pesht Regulars were stationed on Pesht and they remained there as of 3059.[4][3]
During Operation BULLDOG, Somogyi fought well against the Fourth Regulars' Clan Nova Cat opponents, but it was during the invasion of Kiamba during the Combine-Ghost Bear War where he earned his greatest renown. As the Fourth Regulars once again had to retreat in the face of a determined clan foe, Somogyi challenged the Star Captain in charge of a pursuing Clan Ghost Bear Trinary for the right to use the Gurana Plains as an avenue of advance. When Somogyi successfully defeated the Star Captain's Gladiator, it bought his men enough time to regroup and leave Kiamba.[2] Following the Combine-Ghost Bear War, Somogyi and the Fourth Pesht Regulars returned to their station on Pesht and remained there as of 3067.[5]

Tai-sa Stephan Somogyi piloted a Sunder Assault OmniMech during Operation BULLDOG and the Combine-Ghost Bear War.[2]
