History[edit]
Steve McCormick was a Solaris VII MechWarrior during the Jihad.
Steve McCormick was a famous Solaris Games MechWarrior as per the comments from Kiva Cooper from SBC.
Allegedly fighting in the underground fights on Solaris, Kiva asked her viewers on 28th October 3068 if it made sense for a man like Steve to be fighting out of the arenas in street battles for 300 C-bills, and that it made more sense that some fill-in was piloting a similar 'Mech in a similar manner.[1]
Kiva was wrong as Steve was one of the MechWarriors fighting against the Word of Blake as part of the Solaris Home Defense League when he was captured by them. His execution was displayed through the planet in the 11 February 3069. He was allowed to fight a mock battle in the Cathay Arena in a Valkyrie against an Axman, a Crusader and a Wasp. He tried to destroy at least the Wasp but between the three 'Mechs they easily made short work of him, killing him. In the process bad luck ended with missiles from the Blakist 'Mechs destroying the journalist zone where Bob Deal, anchor from Word of Blake program Battlefield Justice was killed.[2]
