Steven Markou was a MechWarrior, who served in the Northwind Consul Guard, as of 3057.[1]

Markou was a member of the Northwind Consul Guard, the bodyguard unit of the Consul of Northwind, Drake Burns. In this capacity Markou participated in the battle for Northwind following the Northwind Highlanders declaring independence from the Federated Commonwealth. Forming part of the forces seeking to retain Federated Commonwealth control over Northwind, on 20 October Markou was part of the attempted defense of the Third Royal Guards' command post in Northwind's Peace Park, when it was assaulted by MacLeod's Regiment. The Highlanders assault was intended to foil a plot by the Guards to lure the soon to land on world Stirling's Fusiliers into an ambush using stolen Highlander codes, and the Federated Commonwealth forces were unable to prevent them from both warning the Fusiliers about the situation, and forcing the FedCom units to retreat.[1]
