The striped mud slider was a species of amphibian native to Tukayyid, found in the Nestlie River Delta wetlands. The venomous animal proved a challenge for local agriculture, feasting on the rice the MTH Conglomerate attempted to grow.[1]
An attempt to eradicate the mud sliders failed: the Terran crocodiles imported to deal with them failed to do so while themselves becoming a challenge for human activity. Rice-growing efforts collapsed in the Delta, left inhabited both by remaining mud sliders and the aggressive descendants of the crocodiles, Tukayyid crocodiles.[1]
