Name Change[edit]

I realize that the Camacho's Caballeros is the "nickname" of the unit and not its official name. However, it IS listed as Caballeros in Mercenary suppliments and not as the 17th. Shouldn't be listed with its common name, not its mostly unused official one? -- Wrangler 10:34, 2 July 2010 (UTC)

Personally, no. That's why I moved it. :) I think (though I cannot find a policy to support this) that articles should always seek to use the "correct" name if it is known. (We had a similar discussion about Anastasius Focht vs. Frederick Steiner where I was voted down, but arguably that is a different thing because Focht was more than a nickname, it was his "new" official name. It's also been cited that Anakin Skywalker redirects to Darth Vader on the Star Wars wiki, but while they are doing an overall very good job over there we don't have to accept their rulings for our own BTW here, do we?) Finally, keep in mind that a redirect is in place from Camacho's Caballeros anyways, so you can use both names as a link - the actual difference is minor. Frabby 10:46, 2 July 2010 (UTC)

The year 3150[edit]

There are two contradictory entries for what the 17th was doing in the year 3150. I don't possess the sources in question, so I can't check myself.

1. "In 3150 they were assigned to hunt down the Red Lions pirate band by the Federated Commonwealth.[3]"

2. "In November 3150 the Caballeros joined with the First, Seventh, and Eighth Tamarind Regulars to assault the Marian Hegemony province capital of Illyria. They had assumed complete control of the system by the end of the year.[15]"

Is the first entry supposed to be "3050" instead of "3150"? (I suspect this is the case, because the Federated Commonwealth was long gone by the 32nd century)

If not, why is the first entry not listed in the Dark Age section? -- 75.23.228.139 26 July 2022

Your first suggestion appears to be correct, as CM:Mercs covers 3025-3049 on the timeline. I'll correct. Good catch. --Revanche (talk|contribs) 15:18, 26 July 2022 (EDT)
