Talk:Holloway V

Merge with Holloway?[edit]

I proposed this page for merging with Holloway, though I am very much open to (indeed prefer!) debate.
Points in Favor

  • Canonical Holloway's inhabited world is the fifth planet!
  • Canonical Holloway has three continents, which does imply a water-rich world, and there were three intact depots found!

Points Against

  • Canonical Holloway has long been deep in the Capellan Confederation, and Apocryphal Holloway was deep in the Draconis Combine. That's a pretty big point against.

At the very least, we need a proper disambiguation done, and if it is desired to create a redirect for Canonical Holloway, we need to move this page. Floor is open.--Talvin (talk) 17:59, 3 July 2022 (EDT)

Disambiguate Blah blah blah BLAH blah blah. Blah. Madness Divine (talk) 20:22, 3 July 2022 (EDT)
I shall take that as a vote for the disambiguation option, and some of the more intelligent debate this wiki has seen. I salute you. BLAH, sir, BLAH I say!--Talvin (talk) 20:37, 3 July 2022 (EDT)
I'll point out that the sole source for this world is on the lower end of the canon/apocryphal totem pole to begin with. It both Holloway systems seem to be a tribute to artist Jim Holloway, and the TCI set was an early product from a time when the BT universe wasn't well defined. It's essentially an error in a throwaway line.
Beyond Talvin's two suggestions there is a third that I would personally prefer: Merge this article (an abbreviated paragraph) into the TCI model kit page, since that is the product where the otherwise apparently erroneous information came from. Add a note in the Holloway article that Holloway V was mentioned there and that it seems to be in error. Frabby (talk) 04:15, 5 July 2022 (EDT)
I could live with that, too. Still no strong preference, but no great objection to that option either.--Talvin (talk) 08:20, 5 July 2022 (EDT)
