Talk:Malice
Hi,
I've added a summary and image for the MAL-Y-SH-LAZR from XTRO:RISC. This specific variant ups the tonnage to 105 tons, and I'm not sure that qualifies for a separate page by Sarna's guidelines. I couldn't think of another 'mech that jacks up tonnage on its variants to use as an example, so feel free to split it off to a separate page if needed.

- You raise an interesting point. But there are other canon examples of 'Mechs with a variant that has a different tonnage (eg. Flea, Stalker, arguably Centurion). Though there are other cases where variants with a different tonnage were treated as different designs, to say nothing of same-tonnage variants that for some reason were also considered different 'Mechs (eg. Grand Dragon). It’s a mess with no rhyme nor reason really.
- Oh, and of course the MAL alphanumerical was previously taken by the 90-ton Mauler. Frabby (talk) 15:44, 19 June 2025 (EDT)
- I'm choosing to construe this answer as a fine for now, but if there is ever a decision to split off tonnage variants I'd be happy to create a separate page for the MAL-Y-SH-LAZR. Thank you for the timely response! LuluOfTheLake (talk) 17:55, 19 June 2025 (EDT)
- Stepping in myself - thanks for coming along and adding the RISC variant! You did good work, and XTRO: RISC definitely needs attention. The edit looks good. As Frabby mentioned, it's not unknown for variants to mess with tonnage - the Flea comes to mind first, the Centurion has some uptonned variants, etc. Current practice is generally to treat them like any other variant, as you did. -- Tumult&Travail (talk) 19:12, 19 June 2025 (EDT)
