Dropping Knowledge Bomb

The 20 Year Update has the 10th Lyran Guards RCT as the garrison of Skondia in 3050 on page 26. However, Skondia was taken by the Combine in the 4th Succession War according to the NAIS The Fourth Succession War Military Atlas Volume 2 on page 78 and did not change hands until the Jihad. Skondia is shown in the possession of the Combine in the maps on pages 32 and 33 of the 20 Year Update as well. Era Report: 3052 also maintains that Skondia belongs to the Combine in 3050. The tricky thing is that the identification of the 10th being on Skondia comes from Lethal Heritage as its Kai Allard-Liao's first assignment after graduating from the NAIS. Looking the map from ER:3052, the only reasonable conclusion is that Stackpole made an error and assumed that Skondia was in the Lyon's Thumb. Skondia being contested does not fit with the Post-39 Detente Hanse and Theodore had, so the correct setting is actually another Lyon's Thumb planet(this keeps it in the Isle of Skye, but also explains the remnants of Combine rule that are onplanet(like the Combine Prison that Kai talks about when he meets Deidre Lear).Aristocra (talk) 13:11, 19 April 2019 (EDT)
