Slight Inaccuracy in Striker TRO[edit]

Hi,

I don't know if this is the correct place to post this, so do forgive (and redirect) me if I'm wrong. :)

The Striker, according to the sources mentioned (TRO: 3058), do not mention that it was meant to "stand up to a great deal of punishment and enable easy repair". Although, yes, the weaponry does indicate otherwise, but many other 'Mechs (especially those from TRO:3025) have similar armament types as well. It does however mention that it was the "fastest and heaviest 'Mech in the Star League inventory", but that does not directly indicate anything about it's widespread use and/or durability.

Also, it doesn't mention that the Striker is "one of the most common 'Mechs in the service of the SLDF" in the TRO. Just that it "has proved its worth many times over".

Still, thanks for making the Wiki, I applaud the effort. — The preceding unsigned comment was posted by 203.214.98.67 (talkcontribs) on 3 November 2008.

Thank you for using BTW. First, if you find something wrong, be bold and fix it. BTW is only good as its editors.
The easy to repair comment, as you point out, is not specifically spelled out in the TRO, but it is a benefit of the unit's construction. We don't just regurgitate the info in the TROs and some analysis is encouraged.
"...at one point [the Striker] was one of the most common assault 'Mechs within the SLDF" comes from TRO:3058U. --Scaletail 16:53, 3 November 2008 (PST)

Ahh, okay, I think I got it. ;) I do realise now that it's a Star League design, and hence, COULD have been constructed with EndoSteel, Ferro-Fibrous etc, but it wasn't. So maybe there's some merit to saying that it was built to be easily maintained. It's a good comment, done very objectively.

And indeed, even though Assault 'Mechs, intrinsically, aren't "common", so to speak, but I understand where you're coming from about it being one of the most common 'Mechs in the SLDF. :) I stand corrected.
