Do not substitute this template.
The |category= parameter can be used to override the auto-categorization feature of this template. Otherwise, the use of this template will categorize the target page into Category:Archives. Use |category=Category:Inactive project pages to categorize the page into Category:Inactive project pages instead of the usual category, or use |category= (nothing typed after =) to do no categorization through the template.
In addition, a shortcut can be added to this template by using the following syntax:
