Plot Summary[edit]

On 15 March 3227, Star Captain Benjamin Tuscany leads a 'Mech Binary of the Third Star League Dragoons through the streets of Tian-tan on Taiw...St. Ives, targeting positions held by the Crimson Revolution. After passing through the commercial district, the unit enters the industrial zone, where they come under fire from Revolution forces, including an ancient Victor assault ’Mech and an Ostscout IIC. Tuscany disables the Victor with concentrated chain gun and graser fire, while a Starmate destroys the Ostscout IIC mid-jump with missile fire.

The unit advances, destroying multiple Regulator Hovertanks with incendiary Thunderbolts, though one hovertank salvo damages the Dervish piloted by MechWarrior Jack "Ogre" Howard. Star Commander Poul "Dutch" vanderFlamagigan then reports the successful capture of over two hundred dependents of the rebels and begins withdrawal.

Tuscany contacts Cluster Command to confirm the clearing of a school, which had housed the adolescent dependents of the Crimson Revolution. After receiving confirmation to complete the operation, Tuscany leads his Star through a rebel ambush, destroying several enemy 'Mechs, including a Summoner and Treburana.

As the unit regroups, Tuscany observes a convoy of APCs, some disabled. One overturned vehicle spills its cargo of books—revised historical texts produced by the Crimson Revolution. Tuscany issues order to burn them.
