Plot summary[edit]

The 29 April 2525, Cadmon, security head of First Prince Alexander Davion, was making sure to keep him protected from all threats, as he was a de facto captive, surrounded with enemies. The 2 May, Cadmon had a secret meeting in a bar, where he contacted with Theodora, an assumed terrorist, but de facto an important Suns' loyalist supporting Alexander against his captors. After saying the password, Three White Roses, representing Alexander, his wife and son, Cadmon ask them for help to get the Prince offworld. The 5 May, Cadmon found himself and his men replaced by Regent's Varnay's men, lead by a man called Mr. Ferryman. Convinced than they were to kill the Prince, he makes preparations to escape. Later contacted by Theodora, she says him than he must the Prince offworld the same day, as a team of Capellan Iron Wheel Triad assassins have get on planet, allowed to by the Regent, to kill Alexander. After neutralizing Ferryman's men, Cadmon led the escape. A street battle followed, with some of Cadmon's people being wounded or killed, but they evacuated Alexander. Then Ferryman arrived, and offered his help. Cadmon didn't trust him, not until he says he's Justinian, Theodora's partner. After swearing to take care of Cadmon's team wounded and killed, he agrees and they departed. Once Cadmon is in space, along with Alexander, the young one promotes him, and any member of his team, before saying he must hide until he reaches the age of majority and can reclaim the Suns' throne.
