Timeline 3052

The 3052 Battle of Tukayyid was the single largest and most climactic battle of the initial Clan Invasion. The Tukayyid scenario pack details the most notable turning point battles between the Com Guards and each individual Clan that participated in the battle. Along with background detail on the preparations for the battle, the scenario pack includes information for players to simulate Clan batchall and zellbrigen rules of engagement, and Unit Acquisition tables for both sides.

Stats and record sheets for five new "Clanbuster" Com Guard 'Mech variants, the Wolfhound IIC, and the Timber Wolf (Pryde) OmniMech configuration are also included.

The scenario pack is known to contain many errors and inconsistencies (see Notes below), many of which were addressed in subsequent publications with the much larger BattleTech: Battle of Tukayyid now superseding it almost entirely.

From the back cover[edit]

On 1 May 3052, the largest single engagement of forces in the history of 'Mech warfare began. Twelve armies of ComStar's Com Guards clashed with twenty-five Galaxies of Clan forces on the hills and plains of the planet Tukayyid. The prize for this battle was the glittering blue gem of the Inner Sphere, the home of humanity: Terra.

A combination of Com Guard ingenuity, Clan short-sightedness, and plain luck allowed the ComStar forces to defeat the Clans one by one—only Clans Ghost Bear and Wolf managed to win any sort of victory. At the end of twenty-one days of fighting, both forces counted ComStar the victor; Earth was saved.

Tukayyid gives players the chance to change history. More than 25 scenarios represent all the major engagements of the Battle of Tukayyid. As the Clans, players may engage in batchall, or bidding, to determine who among them is worthy to lead their forces to the victory that was historically denied them. As the Com Guards, the players must use superior numbers and guerrilla tactics to overcome the Clan's advantage of technology and skill.

Tukayyid is a BattleTech scenario pack that provides historical notes and personal accounts of this epic battle and features a unique point system that allows players to design balanced games and use the Clan bidding system.

  • The Tukayyid scenario pack is somewhat infamous for a number of factual errors, including the names of several Khans and saKhans, the misidentification of numerous units, and other mistakes like referring to Clan Smoke Jaguar Loremaster Edmund Hoyt as a Khan. Beyond those errors, it is consistent with the descriptions of the battles in previously released sourcebooks, namely the Wolf Clan, Jade Falcon Clan and ComStar sourcebooks which, unlike the Tukayyid scenario pack, purport to be in-universe ComStar documents. Later sources such as Invading Clans (presented as an in-universe document from Wolf's Dragoons) claim faulty intelligence or ComStar bias for "errors" in those sources.
  • While the book lists the scenarios grouped by Clan, the numbering system next to each one indicates their chronological order.
