The Turtle Bay system was home to at least one habitable world and as of June 3152 was located in the Albiero Prefecture of the Pesht Military District in the Draconis Combine.[1]

Turtle Bay is located near the Almunge and Brocchi's Cluster systems, near the Periphery border with the Draconis Combine.

Planetary History[edit]

Clan Invasion[edit]

Sho-sa Hohiro Kurita was stationed on Turtle Bay with the Fourteenth Legion of Vega when Clan Smoke Jaguar struck the Combine in 3050. Downed in his Grand Dragon, he was captured by the Jaguars on 30 March. The Jaguars held Kurita in Kurushiiyama, Pain Mountain, in Edo, a facility legendary for having only one escapee in the time the Internal Security Force ran it. That man, the yakuza oyabun of the Ryugawa-gumi, directed efforts to free Hohiro. Using escape tunnels built into the prison at the behest of the local yakuza, Hohiro was freed by Chu-i Shin Yodama on 7 May. In response, the Jaguars razed the city of Edo using orbital bombardment from the WarShip Sabre Cat.[34][35][36]

Turtle Bay is infamous for the Clan Smoke Jaguar civilian massacre which culminated in the orbital bombardment of the city of Edo, an act which killed over a million civilians. The bombardment came after yakuza operatives freed the captive Hohiro Kurita from the Kurushiiyama Prison, and smuggled Hohiro off-world, using a successful guerrilla campaign fought in the streets of Edo as a diversion.[37]

Operation BULLDOG[edit]

Turtle Bay was invaded in the second wave of Operation BULLDOG, and because the invading Second Legion of Vega, Eleventh Legion of Vega, and Sixteenth Legion of Vega met no resistance after an orbital bombardment, they reclaimed the planet.[38]
