University of Blake was a secular ComStar academic institution on Terra as of 3056.[1][2] [3]
Overview[edit]
Following the all-but fruitless Terran Peace Summit in 3053, Precentor Martial Anastasius Focht and Primus Sharilar Mori recognized that more extensive measures were required to convince the Great Houses of the Secular ComStar's good intensions and desire to assist the Inner Sphere resist the Clan invaders.[1]
While the Precentor Martial focused on pulling back the veil of secrecy around the Com Guards, Primus Mori focused on sharing much of the knowledge the Blessed Order had jealously guarded during the Succession Wars era, opening up the historical sections of the ComStar Archives on Terra along with sharing the discoveries and star chats created by the Explorer Corps. Building on this, in a further display of good will Mori announced the creation of the University of Blake, a center of learning dedicated to providing technical knowledge and information to all interested Great Houses.[1]
Construction beginning by the end of 3053[1][2] [3], the University of Blake was expected to hold its first classes in 3056 with a number of graduates from the New Avalon Institute of Science and Sun Zhang MechWarrior Academy having applied for entrance.[1]
Given the Word of Blake's opposition to such institutions and desire to return to pre-Reformation levels of restriction,[1] The fate of the University of Blake following Operation ODYSSEUS and the Blakist capture of Terra was unknown.
