Planetary History[edit]

Clan Invasion[edit]

Vantaa was conquered by Clan Wolf during Operation REVIVAL as part of their Third Wave of attacks in July 3050, with major battles taking place at Odrade's Lament, Teg Acres, Spider's Climb and Duncan's Rift. The planet was defended by the surviving two-thirds of the Tenth Donegal Guards, which had earlier faced the Wolves at Chateau, along with Alpha and Bravo battalions of the Third Regiment, Twelfth Star Guards. Marshal Sarah Steiner, upon receiving the batchall of Star Colonel Carmin Winson, truthfully stated her forces' strength and request that the desert of Shaitan Valley serve as the designated battleground. The Star Colonel Agreed and deployed the Seventh Battle Cluster. The two sides met and engaged each other according to the proscriptions of zellbrigen, with combat consisting of honorable duels between individual warriors. When half of her units had been destroyed Marshal Steiner requested that the remainder be allowed to withdraw and, much to her surprise, Star Colonel Carmin Winson granted her hegira.[33]

Jihad[edit]

In 3071, the Clan Wolf occupation zone was itself subject to an invasion, as Clan Hell's Horses carved itself a holding in Spheroid space. The Hell's Horses conquered had conquered Vantaa by August of 3071,[24] but in December forces from Clan Ice Hellion struck at the Hell's Horses on Vantaa and the nearby world of Seiduts in retaliation for the Horses conquering a number of worlds that the Ice Hellions had only recently acquired from Clan Jade Falcon.[34][35] The spaceport was destroyed in the fighting by Jade Falcon technicians attempting to trap Ice Hellion DropShips on planet.[36] Three months later in March 3072 troops from both the Jade Falcons and Hell's Horses landed on Vantaa,[35][37] beginning a series of battles that would lead to the shattering of the last of the Ice Hellion forces in the Inner Sphere in the last two weeks of April, but which also compromised the vital life-support industries on the planet.[35][38]

In early 3072, after the decisive battle of Clans Jade Falcon and Hell's Horses against Clan Ice Hellion the planet had become depopulated.[39]
