Vernon Payne was a Bloodnamed warrior and the Khan of Clan Fire Mandrill following the death of Nicholas Kerensky.[1]

History[edit]

Following the demise of the Clans' leader Nicholas Kerensky, Khan Vernon oversaw the fracturing of his Clan into a number of Kindraas aligned with specific Bloodhouses. Mikhail Faraday, leader of Kindraa Faraday, challenged Khan Payne to a Trial of Possession for the position of Khan in order to disguise the Fire Mandrills' newly-weakened state from the rest of the Clans. Payne's forces proved to be incapable of matching the Faraday warriors' coordination and ultimately lost the Trial and his Khanship.[1]
