System Description[edit]

The Vestallas system is located near the Milos and Sharpe systems.[4] The system consists of at least four worlds orbiting a class G6V primary.[1]

Seeking to show her sister Candace that the Confederation can strike her secessionist St. Ives Compact at will, Romano Liao sent the Second Confederation Reserve Cavalry to cripple the St. Ives Sentinels to teach them the price of their betraying House Liao. In 3030, the Reserve Cavalry captured a heavily guarded interplanetary communications relay on an isolated tropical island to prevent the Sentinels on Vestallas IV from learning of the upcoming attack.[32]

Geography[edit]

In the MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries High Reward Quest "The Only Truth That Sticks," Vestallas III is depicted as a jungle swamp biome with unlimited visibility.[32]

Planetary History[edit]

Succession Wars[edit]

Vestallas was known to hold the Capellan Confederation's treasure. Its underground vaults contained priceless works of art; precious stones; bars of gold, silver, and germanium; and hard currency from the Confederation and other Successor States. The world easily fell to the St. Ives Compact as the Strategios had stationed no military forces on the world since 2897. In that year a special forces platoon of the CCAF penetrated the largest vault and attempted to declare itself the new ruling class of Vestallas. After loyal special forces units executed the traitors, the CCAF withdrew all military forces from the world to prevent such attacks from happening again.[1]

St. Ives Compact[edit]

When the St. Ives Compact formed, all the wealth stored on Vestallas became the basis for its treasury.

In 3030, following the capture of an interplanetary communications relay on Vestallas III, the Second Confederation Reserve Cavalry crippled the satellite relays in Wong Tai Sin City and executed similar raids elsewhere to ensure the St. Ives Sentinels remained in the dark. Then, the Reserve Cavalry ambushed a full detachment of the Sentinels responding to a supposed pirate raid preparing to strike Jinshan.[32]
