History[edit]
The Warren Capellan March Militia was stationed in the Warren PDZ of the Capellan March, which bordered the Taurian Concordat. Things along this border were tense, but mostly quiet until the Landmark Incident. A Federated Suns freighter misjumped into the Concordat, and the TDF responded by launching a series of raids against the Suns. This continued through 3055 when Thomas Calderon was removed from power. The raids inflicted considerable casualties on the Warren CMM.[1]
The FedCom Civil War wasn't kind to the Warren CMM. Their commander assaulted Panpour, but lost the conflict. Most of the soldiers were interned as prisoners of war, and the Allied forces used the unit's equipment to rebuild their own units. However, unlike many units, the Warren CMM didn't lose command cohesion, and after the Civil War ended they were rapidly returned to service.[2]
During the Jihad the Warren CMM faced off against many of the Taurian Concordat's invading forces. This combat dramatically reduced their effectiveness. The Warren CMM was reorganized into a Light Combat Team, like all the Federated Suns March Militia units in the post-Jihad era.[3]
With the formation of the Periphery March the Warren Capellan March Militia was redesignated the Warren Periphery March Militia. The troops, who had long had a problem with the leadership on New Syrtis, welcomed the new assignment. Their reduction in size to a Light Combat Team inspired some grumbling, but nothing serious. The unit was also very pleased with the success of Operation MATADOR.[4]
After the invasion of the Capellan March by the Capellan Confederation, the Warren Periphery March Militia was assigned to Kigamboni in the Capellan March. Prior to this assignment the unit hadn't deployed off of their homeworld (Brusett) for longer than six months. With their traditional poor treatment at the hands of the Capellan March Lords still in their minds, the members of the Warren PMM were very unhappy to be back at their mercy.[5]
