He commanded the 200th Attack Cluster in 3059.[2][1]
When Khan Asa Taney efforts to go to the Inner Sphere were thwarted when the Khans of the Invading Clans banded together and forced both motions to be withdrawn, Taney's efforts were further undercut when plans for the Harvest Trials were announced, allowing individual Clan units to "fight" a Trial of Possession and lose so that they may be absorbed into Clan Wolf or Clan Jade Falcon. Many hundreds of warriors chose to betray their Clans and seek glory for themselves in this manner including, much to Taney's anger, the Ice Hellion saKhan Weiland Cage.
Cage's unit lost a Binary in a preemptive Trial to the Jade Falcons, and so as punishment Khan Taney decided to replace those forces with freebirths and untested cadets, among them a progeny of Khan Taney, Eva, to reinforce the understrength Lithe Kill Keshik, knowing Cage's bias against freeborns. Both Cage and Khan Vlad Ward were caught unawares by the skill of the replacements. Eva and the mostly Freeborn troops of the replacement Binary inflicted such heavy losses that Ward was forced to rescind his claim to Cage's entire Keshik, bargaining down the odds to a more manageable Star-size Trial which he narrowly won, taking a number of Ice Hellion bondsmen including Eva, to her Genefather's chagrin.[2][1]
