The Weldry system was home to at least one habitable world or construct and as of 2750 was located in the Sian Commonality of the Capellan Confederation.

System Description[edit]

The Weldry system is located near the Lyreton and Ward systems.[2][3]

System History[edit]

The Weldry system was settled during the Star League era at some point after the end of the Reunification War.[4][2][3] Weldry vanished from maps during the First Succession War[5][6] indicating that the system had been abandoned or depopulated.

Weldry III is a stop on a well-traveled route to Herotitus or the Magistracy of Canopus.[1] However, it is neither recognized as an Aurigan holding by the Capellan Confederation, nor does it show as inhabited on Capellan maps.[30] The relatively small population focuses on manufacturing and agriculture.[1]

Geography[edit]

The planet is very cold and has a thin atmosphere only breathable in the lowlands and valleys. The highlands are barren sand, inedible flora and rocks.[1]

Local Flora and Fauna[edit]

The highest form of life is a vicious stinging insect, the Branson's Mosquito, that can form mile-wide swarms. Population centers use ultrasonics to repel the swarms.[1]
